The Division of Pediatric infectious diseases at Maimonides Children’s Hospital is looking to recruit an additional clinician for a full time/part time position. The position involves coverage of the inpatient consult service, outpatient infectious disease and travel medicine clinic, as well as resident and medical student education. ROLE SUMMARY

The clinician medical monitor is a member of an energetic team working on an innovative RSV candidate vaccine and is accountable for providing medical and scientific expertise and oversight for Clinical Trials and serves as a single point of accountability for design, execution, monitoring, delivery and reporting of one or more clinical studies and to ensure patient safety.

In addition to study level activities, the clinician medical monitor will participate in standing committees, review compounds for potential in-licensing, including performance of due diligence reviews, and provide assistance to new business development on market opportunities and the target product profile.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • MD Degree
  • Licensed by a health authority to prescribe medicines (independent of supervision) for at least one year (post "intern/houseman" year), and has utilized the license to prescribe medicines in a patient care setting for an aggregate duration of at least one year.
  • Possesses the ability to critically evaluate medical/scientific information; propose new concepts and innovative ideas in drug development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Understands the design, development, and execution of clinical programs and studies.
  • Documented work experience/knowledge of statistics.
  • Capacity to adapt to a fast pace and changing environment.

Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking a Board Certified/Eligible pediatric infectious disease physician for a part time position with our medical group in Portland, Oregon. Our new physician will partner with a second Northwest Permanente pediatric infectious disease physician, as well as the Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) pediatric infectious disease team. Inpatient pediatric infectious disease services are offered at the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (at OHSU) and outpatient services are offered at Portland's Kaiser Permanente campus.

We are looking for an experienced pediatric infectious disease physician that is both technically and interpersonally outstanding. They should be comfortable working with general pediatric inpatients, as well as pediatric ICU patients. Collaborative, patient focused, and proactive are all attributes we strive to hire.

Consultations, outpatient clinic, and call will be shared with the other Kaiser pediatric infectious disease physician with alternating weeks on and off. Consults are provided in person or virtually with requests originating from various groups, including from pediatrics, family medicine, orthopedics, urgent care clinic, neurosurgery and obstetrics/gynecology. The on-service physician does all inpatient consults, 1/2 day of outpatient clinic per week and takes all calls within KPNW during the week that he/she/they is on. Weekend and holiday coverage is shared with OHSU.

The ideal candidate will also have a vision for health system improvement as he/she/they will be an integral member of committees serving on interdisciplinary teams around immunizations, antimicrobial stewardship and be a content expert for infectious disease practice guidelines.
