A prerequisite for serving as either a PIDS Officer or Council Member-at-Large is demonstrated experience and dedication to the Society's activities. If you are interested in becoming a PIDS leader, the first step is to volunteer to serve on a committee. Committee terms are for three years. Volunteers must be willing to engage energetically in the charge of the committee and be able to participate in two one-hour conference calls and usually a face-to-face meeting a year (generally scheduled during either the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) or the Pediatric Academic Societies' (PAS) Annual Meetings).

Volunteer applications are due no later than June 27, 2011. Unfortunately due to more volunteers than committee vacancies, all volunteers may not be appointed to committees. Please keep this in mind if you are not appointed this year and try again next year.
