National Resident Matching Program

The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society is pleased to announce the subspecialty’s participation in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). In its December 2011 newsletter, NRMP welcomed Pediatric Infectious Disease programs and provided next steps for registering programs and important facts about the 2012 Pediatric Infectious Disease Match for the 2013 appointment year. Why a Match?

  • A match allows applicants and programs to consider all their options and to select their most desired position(s) or individual(s) in a safe, confidential setting.
  • The NRMP establishes a uniform schedule for applicants and institutions to make selections without pressure.
  • The NRMP fosters a spirit of fairness by ensuring all participants comply with the policies and procedures that govern the matching process.
