The following information for patients and parents is provided as a service by the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society. No endorsement or approval is stated or implied.
Determining if a physician is certified in To receive certification in a specialty such as pediatric infectious diseases, a doctor must complete the required residency and pass written and oral examinations for pediatrics, and then for pediatric infectious diseases, both of which are administered by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The ABP is a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). You may learn whether a pediatrician is board-certified by going to the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) website and selecting Locate a Board-Certified Physician from the quick links menu, or from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). All board-certified physicians are listed on these sites. Membership in the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society does not indicate that the physician is board-certified in pediatric infectious diseases.
Finding a physician who is a specialist in The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society does not provide physician referrals. If you need to find a specialist in pediatric infectious diseases, there are several possibilities.
